Which Bell Tent Is Right for You? Standard vs. Premium vs. Fire-Proof

A bell tent looks like a movie set and sets up like a team sport. Before you buy one, here is what the canvas, the pole and the price tag really mean.

What is a bell tent?

A bell tent is a round canvas tent held up by a single center pole. The sloped walls shed rain, the high peak gives standing room, and the round footprint sleeps a group without feeling like a cave.

Canvas weight matters

Canvas is measured in GSM (grams per square meter). Heavier canvas generally means more insulation and durability, and a little more weight to carry.

  • Standard Bell Tent (200 GSM): lightweight, packs, pitches and dries fast. A good fit for festivals and first-time owners.
  • Premium Bell Tent (280 GSM): better insulation and a mildew-, mold- and waterproof treatment. Built for frequent campers and glamping sites.
  • Premium Fire-Proof Bell Tent (340 GSM): a fire-retardant coating made for wood stoves, for winter camping and long-term setups.

Picking a size

Our bell tents come in 3M, 4M, 5M and 6M diameters depending on the model. Smaller sizes suit couples and weekend trips; larger sizes suit families, groups and glamping setups with beds and furniture. Check each product page for exact sizes and colors.

Setup

Bell tents are easy once you have done it once. Pitch it in your yard first, bring a second person, and watch our setup guides.
